Marilyn Agliotti is a natural goal scorer who always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Unquestionably the form player for her side, she finished as joint top scorer at this years’ Samsung Champions Trophy with five goals and was nominated for the 2007 FIH World Player of the Year award.

All of these achievements are incredible for a woman who actually began her playing career as an 11-year-old at Fish Hoek Middle School in Cape Town, South Africa, and even represented her former country at the 1998 World Cup in Utrecht and the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Back then she could never have guessed that eight years later she would be a central figure in the Dutch team for the Beijing Olympics.

Her excellent form for her newly adopted country saw her named in the 2007 FIH All Star team. Agliotti, who plays her club hockey for Orange-Zwart in Eindhoven, has also studied computer engineering and enjoys snowboarding, reading, listening to music and collecting quotes.
